Summary of Contents: همایون نامه A fine old copy of the Humáyún-náma, the well-known Turkish version of the Anwár-i Suhaylí (Fables of Bidpáy), composed by 'Alí Chelebi of Philippopolis (d. A.H. 950/1543) and dedicated to Sultán Sulaymán I. See Rieu, B.M.T.C., pp. 227-228; Flügel, Vienna Cat., vol. III, pp. 299-301. Begins: حضرت حليم خلّاق و حكيم على الاطلاق جلت حكمته Ff. 345 of 24 x 16.2 c. and 21 ll. Excellent ta'líq with rubrications. Transcribed by Khalíl ibn Yúsuf in Jumádà I, 982 (August, 1574). According to Professor Browne's note on the fly-leaf, this MS. was given to him in April, 1908, in Constantinople by Dr Rizá Tevfiq.

According to Professor Browne's note on the fly-leaf, this MS. was given to him in April, 1908, in Constantinople by Dr Rizá Tevfiq.

Passed to Cambridge University Library in 1936 (the "Browne Bequest").
