Çelebī: A similar collection of official letters by ʿĀlī Çelebī (no doubt misspelt for ʿAlī علی or perhaps merely ʿĀlī عالی), beginning on fol. 61b, without a preface, at once with a letter to Ganji Efendi: گنجی افندی (افنديه) کوندر لمشدر گوهر گنجینه برای نادره الخ. An ʿAlī Efendi (who died AH 1008=AD 1599/1600) is mentioned in G. Flügel ii. p. 94, but very likely the author meant here is the well-known ʿAlī Çelebī, i. e. ʿAlī bin Emrullāh Ḳınālızāde (who died at Edirne, AH 979, 7th of Ramażān=AD 1572, January 23), whose منشآت are highly praised and frequently met with in collections of Turkish MSS., see Rieu, p. 94b; W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 471; G. Flügel i. p. 266; Krafft, p. 28; H. Khalfa vi. p. 185, etc. No date.
