Medicine

The author has been living in the Saljuq era and at the court of Sulṭān Sanjar, and has created this work upon his request in 17 chapters. The first to fifth chapters are about foods as well as plain and compound drugs, and the sixth to seventeenth chapters about the issues around sexual intercourse.

Explicit: …

According to the existing catalogues, there are only two copies left of this work, one in the Majlis Library of Iran, and one in Neẓāmiyah of Ḥaydar'ābād. The printed copy is also based on the manuscript held in Neẓāmiyah of Ḥaydar'ābād Dakan. Therefore, the current copy included, only three copies have survived from this work. The current copy is also important in respect of the author's name, which is recorded as Haybat Allāh ibn Azdah Mushīr ibn Janī ibn Jāmās, while it is listed as Haybat Allāh Zayd Baṣrī in the other two copies. As he has been working in the court of the Saljuqs, the second name does not seem to be reliably correct.
