Containing hymns (ʿonyata) for the E. Syriac night office for Sundays and festivals by Giwargis Warda and others.

This is the so-called short recension.

Support: Paper, 25½ cm.
Extent: 183 ff.

Condition

Many leaves are stained and soiled and some mutilated. Ff. 1* and 1** are a later supply of the 18th century. Leaves are wanting before f. 1 and after ff. 1**, 7, and 175.

Hand(s)

Written in a good nearly monoline E. Syriac hand and dated 1861 = 1550 CE.

Binding

Old binding of leather over stout wooden boards.

Acquired for the SPCK by George Percy Badger and presented to the Library in 1887.
