E. Syriac marriage service.

Title: The order of marriage according to the Chaldean rite.

The principal parts of the service are: the blessing proper (1r-18r), blessing of garments (18r-28r), order of crowning (28r-60r), order of weaving the bridechamber ( 60v-69r).

Extent: 69 ff.

Condition

Leaves are wanting at the beginning and elsewhere. The remaining leaves are stained and torn with some loss of text.

Hand(s)

Written in a clear E. Syriac hand by Deacon Yawsep son of Deacon Hormizd from Telkef, in March 1812.

Binding

Repaired and bound in Cambridge in cloth.
