Title: E. Syriac hymns.
Language(s): Syriac

Variously called sogyata and ʿonyata. They include some attributed to Khamis and to 'Mar Ishoʿyabh metropolitan of Salamas'. One group of sogyata is for the ecclesiastical year. Another group of ʿonyata is on the departure of Adam from Paradise.

Support: Paper, 15 cm.
Extent: 129 ff.

Condition

Leaves are wanting at the beginning, end and elsewhere.

Hand(s)

Written in a good E. Syriac hand of about the 18th cent.

Binding

Originally bound in wooden boards, but the top board is lost. The sewing is mostly intact.

From the library of Robert Bensly. It was purchased by him in 1891.
