1 copy of al-Qawāʿid fī al-ṭibb by Shihāb al-Dīn al-Kāzarūnī

Author: Shihāb al-Dīn al-Kāzarūnī شهاب الدين الكازرونى

A complete description of various diseases and their treatment. The manuscript does not contain a proper introduction, with the title of the work and the author clearly indicated. The title is written on fol. 1a in the following form كڻاب العواعد ڦى الطب لسهاب الدڻڻ الكارروڻى. The name of Shihāb al-Dīn al-Kāzarūnī (as opposed to Sadīd al-Dīn al-Kāzarūnī - cf. Ullmann Medizin 272) was not identified by to F. Ḥaddād and H.H. Biesterfeld (cf. Ḥaddād/Biesterfeld p. 107). However, the name of the author as well as the title of the work (Kitāb al-Qawā`id) appears in a reference note found in a manuscript described by W. Ahlwardt (cf. Ahlwardt Katalog no. 6291 fols 147, 150). Cf. also WMS Arabic no. 441, which seems to have been a part of this manuscript.

Origin: 16 Rabīʿ II 766 / 10 January 1365 AH تم تحرير هذا الكتاب على يد اضعف عباد الله احمد بن ابي بكر احمد بن السديد وقف العصر من الثلثا السادس عشر من ربيع الثانى لسنه ست وستين وسبعمايه هجريه نبويه ببلده يزد
