Excerpt paraphrasing and expanding in Persian the Arabic treatise on the principles of mysticism, ascribed to Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī (d. 561/1166), by the translator Valī ibn Mulūk Shāh al-Ṣiddīqī al-Qādirī, author of another work on mysticism, Naṣīḥat al-ʿārifīn.
Although the work lacks its formal title, it has been labelled Sharḥ-i Ghaws̲īyah in the colophon.
Defective at beginning.
Fine rounded Central Asian naskh with full vocalisation for Arabic quotations.
The work is bound, but lacking its original covers; water and fungal stains.
Dated colophon (f. 43v): 4 Z̲ī al-Qaʿdah [10]87/8 January 1677.
