Ethical compendium based on the Qurʾān and the moral precepts of the Twelve Imams, planned in eight abvāb with only a portion surviving, dedicated to the Safavid ruler, Shāh ʿAbbās II (d. 1077/1667)
Replacement folios (relatively early) added ff. 2-7; crude replacement on f. 1v, which is the inside of the front flap
Fungal damage and water stains
Original folios often marked at top as vaqf al-ʿāmm; good nastaʿlīq and naskh; gold ruled jadāval throughout
Annotated in margins; some owner seals: 1) Muṣṭafá; 2) Yār ʿAlī ibn Salīm
