Signed note on f. 166v by William Anderson (1803-1858) dated August 1842: "This book contains a few memoirs of some of the leading men about Kundahar and Kabul, such as generally received; collected by Mirza Yahya...many are common tradition and may not be true."
Binding
Contemporary brown leather binding with plain and punched circle borders.
Dated oval seal of the scribe below the colophon: ʿAbduhu Yaḥyá 1257 (1841/42).

Commissioned and previously owned by Lieutenant-Colonel William Anderson (1803-1858)
Acquired by the India Office Library on 19 March 1909, one of 25 vols. purchased at a sale of Sotheby, Wilkins and Hodge for £7.0.6 on 16 March 1909 (ref. IOR/L/R/6/309 no 546).
