Brown leather 19th century Indian binding with rectangular border frames, outer border decorated with stamped circular motif.
History
Provenance and Acquisition
Formerly owned by Lieutenant-Colonel William Anderson (1803-1858) who served as Commandant of Shah Shuja's 2nd Cavalry during the 1st Afghan War (1838-1842).
Purchased as one of 25 vols for a total of £7.0.6 at sale of Sotheby, Wilkins & Hodge on 16 March 1909. Ref IOR/L/R/6/309 no 546.
