Well known work in verse and prose on Islamic ethics and mystical themes organised into 8 rawz̤ah, written in response to the Gulistān of Saʿdī at the court of the Timurid ruler, Sulṭān Ḥusayn, at Herat
Transcribed in very fine calligraphic nastaʿlīq-i khafī; text panels illuminated with fine zar afshānī; decorated double-page opening (ff. 1v-2r) with interlinear taḥrīr, illuminated sarlawḥ and ʿunvān (f. 1v); multiple coloured and gilt rulings (several damaged by corrosion, causing text panels to detach)
