An abridged history of the genealogy, princehood, succession, and reign of the Mughal Emperor Shāh Jahān (d. 1666).

Early portions of this account (up to year 11) are based on earlier (abrogated) official Pādshāhnāmahs, especially works by Muḥammad Amīn Qazvīnī and Mīrzā Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Ṭabāṭabāʾī

Later portions of this account (years 11-31) are based on later official Pādshāhnāmahs, especially works by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd Lāhawrī and Muḥammad Vāris̲ Vāris̲ Khān

The account concludes with important information of the emperor's overthrow by Prince Awrangzīb, later ʿĀlamgīr Pādshāh I (d. 1707)
