Note (dated 26 May 1904) from H. Beveridge to W. Irvine attached to flyleaf: "I return you your two MSS. and Malet with many thanks. Your Akbarnama is a good copy of the latter part of the book, but there is nothing special about it. The marginal words are merely the filling up of lacunae. There are no notes, & so far as I can see, no readings different from those in common use. The Bib. Ind. (Bibliotheca Indica) is not a good edition & is often very bad about names of places & persons, & in respect of these your copy is commonly better than the Bib. Ind."
