Collection of original transcripts and English translations of Persian letters from 1) the Navvāb [of Murshidābād] to Vansittart (ff. 1r, 5r,7r, 14v, 20v), Hastings (ff. 37r, 67r), Lieutenant Ironside (f. 24v), also a naql-i dastak of Navvāb Qāsim Khān Bahādur, dated 23 Z̲ī al-ḥijjah year 3 (f. 24v); 2) addressed to Ironside from "Goorgeen Chan" (f. 26v), ʿAlī Mīrzā Khān(f. 69r), "Mahmud [sic, read Muḥammad] Iridge Cawn, Naib of Murshudabad" (ff. 77r, 80v, 84), Ghulām Ḥusayn Khān (f. 78v, 81r), "Mahmud [sic, read Muḥammad] Ali, Foujdar of Dacca" (f. 30v)
Most letters undated, except for 2: 1) f. 66v is dated 8 Z̲ī al-qaʿdah 1176 / 1763; 2) f. 20v mentions the month of Kārtik Bikram samvat 1167 as being 16 months before the month of Māgh to the year of writing
