Fragment of a larger collection of letters assembled by the eighteenth-century author, also known as Mīrzā Ḥātim, prefixed with a brief autobiographical preface, containing also the author's preferred title for the work
Born at ʿAẓīmābād (Patna), the author resided mostly in Shāhjahānābād (Delhi) as a darvīsh, living through Nādir Shāh Afshār's invasion and sack of the city (while at Qannawj), and corresponding with many important literary figures of the time, such as ʿAlī Ḥusayn Gardīzī (author of a taz̲kirah)
