Fragment of a mas̲navī in praise of the ruler of Avadh, Vazīr al-mamālik Navvāb Āṣaf al-Dawlah, recounting his exploits and, especially, his expedition to and from Rāmpūr (Uttar Pradesh State) following Fayz̤ Allāh Khān’s killing of Muḥammad ʿAlī Khān in 1209
Āṣaf al-Dawlah is occasionally referred to as Navvāb-i Jannat Ārāmgāh, indicating the poem may have been composed after his death
William Irvine labels the work Āṣafnāmah, but this is not found in the present work
Colophon (f. 32v): completed on the road to ʿAẓīmābād (Patna, Bihar State), Thursday afternoon, 10 Shaʿbān 1221/23 October 1806
