Edict or farmān with the seal of Fatḥ ʿAlī Shāh (dated 1217/1802) and invocation, addressesed to Gore Ouseley, the English ambassador, noting the submission of his petition and good service, alongside the courtier, Mīrzā Abū al-Ḥasan Khān; terms for new treaty under royal consideration, Ouseley's questions regarding terms will be answered; maktūbāt or documents will be issued, some farmāns with explanatory appendices or z̲ayl, which Ouseley may complete; Ouseley to speedily submit his terms in petitions
