Reports or akhbār, here entitled Akhbār-i darbār-i muʿallá, on events and transactions of the Timurid or Mughal Emperor Akbar Shāh II’s imperial court at Delhi and government of India
Additionally contains reports on the dyordhi (threshold, i.e. office) of the Nāẓim al-Dawlah Mr Archibald Seton Ṣāḥib Bahādur (d. 1818), and his successor, Charles Theophilus Metcalfe Ṣāḥib Bahādur (d. 1846)
Accounts only partially cover the period from 6 Muḥarram regnal year 5 (=1226)/31 January 1811 to 8 Jumādá al-S̲ānī regnal year 5 (=1226)/30 June 1811, comprising records for the months of February-March and May-June
Accounts additionally dated on reverse (recto face) with Gregorian dates
Accounts on single leaves and scrolls mounted in volume in English order, with each news or khabar leaf beginning on the verso side and mounted in reverse date order, the first folio being the latest khabar and the last (f. 243) being the earliest
