Specimen of mixed and novel calligraphic scripts (some identified as khaṭṭ-i nasīmī bi-al-rayḥān, muḥaqqaq, durrī, riqāʿ, naskh, s̲uls̲, tawqīʿ, taʿlīq, kūfī) and portions of Arabic and Persian prose and poetry possibly intended as a Christmas gift, from a collection of five miscellaneous documents from different sources and dates
Large sheet of thin paper folded into four sections, unmounted, blank on reverse
Signed repeatedly by Vāʿiẓ ʿAlī "Fayz̤ Raqamī", calligrapher. However, a more detailed colophon states that Vāʿiẓ ʿAlī was the pupil of Ūstād Sayyid Muḥammad Khalīl "Fayz̤ Raqamī" ʿAẓīm'ābādī (Patna, Bihar). After the ellapse of eleven years following his master's death, he completed this sampler with the support of Ḥusām al-Dawlah Nātāmābal (?) Khān Ṣāḥib Bahādur Shamshīrjang, 22 December 1822
