An astrological treatise, concerning auspicious hours, days and months according to the positions of the moon by Ḥusayn Vā‘iẓ Kāshifī (d. 910/1504-5).

The present manuscript was produced during the author’s lifetime and probably in his hometown of Herat, and strengthens the case for using the alternative title of the work, Ikhtiyārāt-i nujūm.

The work contains a number of tables.

Colophon on title page, f. 1r, naming the work as Ikhtiyārāt al-nujūm and the author as Ustāz̲unā va Shaykhunā al-Ḥakīm Ḥusayn bin ‘Alī al-Bayhaqī al-Kashifī al-Haravī. Copied in Muḥarram 909/June-July 1503 by ‘Alī ibn Muḥammad al-Mashhadī al-Haravī.

Other contents: f. 1r, inscription giving the title as Ikhtiyārāt al-nujūm; later small inscription: Ikhtiyārāt-i nujūm va Risālah dar ma‘rifat-i istikhrāj-i taqvīm; ownership inscription of Aḥmad ibn Faz̤l Allāh al-Shīrāzī, 1000/1591-2.
