The famous biographical work on the lives, virtues and sayings of early Sufis. By Farīd al-Dīn ‘Aṭṭār (d. ca. 1220). See Storey PL I/2, pp. 930-933. The present manuscript is the earliest known dated copy.

Completed in 686/1287, at the khānaqāh of Najīb al-Dīn ‘Alī ibn Burghush. Copied by Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr al-Khalīlī.

Excellent early naskhī. Red headings. 19 lines. Illuminated title frontispiece, 1r, and Basmala heading, 1v. 266 folios. 26 x 18 cm. Good brown morocco binding, ca. 9th/15th century.
