Untitled commentary on daftars III-IV of the Mas̲navī-'i maʿnavī of Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (d. 670/1271) by Mawlānā Muḥammad ʿAbd al-ʿAlī ibn Quṭb al-Dīn, composed circa 1700.

Dated colophon to daftar IV (f. 237v): completed by Jīvan Bayg ibn ʿĀshūr Bayg ibn Rashīd Bayg at Shāhjahānābād, midday Friday, 10 Jumādá I 1250/14 September 1834, Christian Era stated as 1835[sic], in the reign of Emperor Akbar [II].

Rough nastaʿlīq on burnished English (?) laid paper with manufacturer’s watermarks.

Occasional annotations and corrections in margins.

Stamped and Persian foliation.

Lacking original binding. Current decaying leather binding postdates 1862.

Folios bound; damp and fungal damage; ink smudged or transferred in parts.

Condition fragile.
