Commentary on the Mas̲navī-'i maʿnavī of Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (d. 670/1271) by [Mīr Sayyid] Muḥammad Hāshim ibn Muḥammad Kāẓim al-Ḥasanī al-Ḥusaynī al-Najafī known as Fayz̤ān.
The title is a chronogram yielding the date 1122/1710-11.
This volume is defective, having lost a number of folios from the beginning.
Dated colophon (f. 150v): completed by Ḥafīẓ Allāh al-Ḥusaynī, 18 Z̲ī [al-]Ḥijjah in RY 20 of Emperor Muḥammad Shāh, (1151)/29 March 1739.
Scribal nastaʿlīq.
Stamped foliation.
Lacking binding.
Loose folded paper wrapper (Acquittance Roll, Law Examination Committee, dated November [18]31; signed January 1833, Calcutta), watermarked; torn, stained, portions missing.
Folios unbound; cropped, wormholes, later repairs.
Condition very fragile.
