Summary of Contents: Miscellaneous collection of literary and lexicographic works on pharmacology and medicine, mainly by secretary of the Timurid or Mughal Emperor Humāyūn (d. 963/1556), Yūsuf ibn Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Ṭabīb takhalluṣ "Yūsufī". Volume not dated; items a, b, g, h and i dated, ranging 26 Muḥarram-23 Ṣafar 1195/22 January-18 February 1781. However, the volume generally appears to be the work of the same scribe as that identified in items h and i, Qāz̤ī Muḥammad Shāh Hindūnavī, who wrote at the request of Rājah Ajīt Singh Bahādur of Balamgarh. Summary of contents added at beginning. Rough to neat scribal nastaʿlīq. Annotations and corrections in margins. Stamped foliation. Lacking original binding. Leather binding damaged, detached and delaminating boards exposing inner matter. Folios bound; cropped, wormholes, later repairs. Condition moderately fragile.

Item a.

Supplementary treatise to an earlier pharmacological work entitled ʿIlāj al-amrāz̤ by the same author, the secretary of the Timurid or Mughal Emperor Humāyūn (d. 963/1556), Yūsuf ibn Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Ṭabīb with the takhalluṣ "Yūsufī".

The work was completed at Hirāt, 18 Ramaz̤ān 917/19 December 1511.

The chronogrammatic title yields the date of composition as 913/1507-8.

The work was completed in 944/1537-8.

The treatise comprises of six chapters.

The date of composition contained in a chronogrammatic verse is indicated as 906/1500-1.

Item h.

Treatise on practical medicine by the poet and general Amān Allāh Khānazād Khān, later entitled Khān Zamān Khān the Fīrūzjang (d. 1046/1636-7), son of the infamous and despised general of the Timurid or Mughal Emperor Jahāngīr, Ghuyūr Bayg Mahābat Khān, later entitled Khānkhānān with the status of sipāhsālār under Emperor Shāh Jahān I.

The work carries an undated dedicated to Emperor Jahāngīr.

The work is divided into three sections termed fann. However, the table of contents given in the preface does not match that found in the work itself.

Dated colophon (f. 175v): completed by Qāz̤ī Muḥammad Shāh, resident of Hindūn, 23 Ṣafar in RY 22 of Emperor Shāh ʿĀlam, 1195/18 February 1781, written at the request of Rājah Ajīt Singh Bahādur of Balamgarh.

Occasional annotations in margins.

Dictionary of medical terms organised by subject into eleven sections termed faṣl by Muḥammad Zakarīyā ibn Z̤iyāʾ al-Dīn Muḥammad Ṭabīb, based on the Arabic work of the same subject entitled Muṣṭalaḥāt al-ṭibb by Najm al-Dīn Abū Manṣūr Ḥasan ibn Nūḥ al-Qumrī (d. 380/990).

Dated colophon (f. 210v): completed by Qāz̤ī Muḥammad Shāh Hindūnavī, Friday, 7 Ṣafar in RY 22 of Emperor Shāh ʿĀlam, 1195/2 February 1781, written in Balamgarh at the request of Rājah Ajīt Singh Bahādur.
