A very defective anthology of Turkish lyrical poetry, containing ḳaṣīdes, ġazels, tercīʿbands and other kinds of poetical composition, but, owing to numerous lacunas, the arrangement is not very clear. Ff. 1-9 are without any systematic order, beginning with a murabbaʿ thus: اگر دلرس اولاسن سعادت ايلينه شاه الخ. After fol. 9 a large lacuna; on ff. 10-22 the poems are arranged in alphabetical order, beginning in the middle of a ġazel, rhyming in ا, and breaking off in a ḳaṣīde, rhyming in ت; after fol. 22 another lacuna; on ff. 23-25 the alphabetical order is continued, from the middle of a poem in ج to one in ح; after fol. 25 a third lacuna; on ff. 26-29 continuation of the alphabetical system, comprising letters د and beginning of ذ; after fol. 29 a fourth lacuna; ff. 30 and 31 contain poems rhyming in ا again; after fol. 31 a fifth lacuna; ff. 32-35 alphabetical poems, beginning in the middle of a poem, rhyming in ر and going to the end of the letter 33. The poets represented are the same that have occurred in the preceding collections, especially in Nos. 2150-2153, chiefly writers of the time of Süleymān I and Selīm II, for instance, Bihiştī, Ḥayretī, Ẕātī, etc.; Nesīmī too is met with occasionally. The title given to this collection at the top of fol. 1b and at the end, دیوان غزلیات شعرا, is not quite correct, as only a limited number of poems found here are ġazels.
