A short Turkish commentary on the Rūznāme-i cedīde (or fully, as Rieu gives the title, روزنامهٔ جدیدهٔ محمدیه), i.e. the new perpetual calendar which was compiled by Dervīş Ṭālib. Made for Muḥammed Paşa, the governor of Egypt, AH 1017=AD 1608/1609, in order to correct the deficiencies of Şeyḫ Vefā's older Rūznāme; see Rieu, pp. 242b and 259a, and W. Pertsch, Berlin Cat., p. 193 (No. 173). Another, much more recent work of a similar title (روزنامهٔ جدید), written in Algiers, AH 1186=AD 1772/1773, is noticed in Rieu, p. 123b. The present commentary, by an anonymous author, begins with: اصل شرح احکام مفتاح روزنامه جديده، شرح تاریخ اصل، معلوم اولاكه بو روزنامه جديده الخ. The text fills ff. 1b-4a; ff. 4b-12 contain circles and tables of the twelve months, beginning with ماه آذر.
