A Turkish grammar, written in Latin by Albert Bobovy of Lemberg in Galicia (Albertus Bobovius Leopolitanus), Professor of the Turkish language, for his revered friend the English chaplain Henri Denton in Pera, Constantinople, in the beginning of 1666. It is an exquisite and very valuable compilation, of great interest both for the history of grammatical studies in Turkish and the development of the Turkish idiom itself. Letters and signs of the alphabet, on ff. 28-4b. The verb, on fol. 5a. The noun, on fol. 16b. The particles, on fol. 18b. It is also rich in well-selected phrases, and in fine syntactical remarks. Additional sentences and phrases, in Turkish and Latin, are found on the first nine leaves at the back. Bobovy is likewise the author of a 'Tractatus de Turcarum liturgia, peregrinatione, etc., cum annott. Th. Hyde' (Appendix to Abraham Peritsol's 'Itinera Mundi,' Oxford, 1691).
