Summary of Contents: رساله علت مراقيه. A Turkish treatise on Hypochondriasis, or Melancholy, Syphilis (Marad-i-
Afranj, "the New Disease"), and a few other diseases not adequately treated in
the older Arabic books on Medicine, by Mustafà Feyzi (Faydí), physician to Sultán
Muḥammad IV (A.D. 1648-1687), beginning after the short doxology: اما بعد، بو رساله صحت نصاب و نسخهٔ حکمت انتسابك تألیف و ترسیمنه باعث و بادی بو در که
علت مراقیه ایله سودای مراقيّه نك بين الناس كثرت و فرقی و صغیر و كبيرك بو ایکی مرضه
ابتلالری ظاهر اولوب الخ Healing treatises ) - الرسائل المشفية للأمراض المشكله The proper title of the work for difficult diseases") is given on f. 2b, ll. 6-7, and it contains nine sections, as
follows: فصل اول علت مواقيه نك وجه تسمیه ستی و ماده مراقيه لله كيفيت حدوثی بیاننده در (ه ))
فصل ثاني علت مراقبه نك سوف اولان اعضائه بماننده در (ای (۲) فصل ثالث علت مراقیه نك اسبابی بیاننده در (6) (f) فصل رابع علت مراقیه نك علامتلری بیاننده در (6) ) فصل خامس تقدمة المعرفة بیاننده در 8 (1) فصل سادس علت مراقیه نك اجمالاً معالجه سی بیاننده در 14 ) فصل سابع علت مراقیه الله تفصيلا معالجی بیاننده در (15)
فصل ثامن علت مراقيه ده واقع اولان اعراضك تسکینی بیاننده در 1.25)
فصل تاسع بو علنده اسباب سته ضرورينك تدبیری بیاننده در 28 . This MS., which was given to me by Dr Rizá Tevfiq (Ridá Tawfiq) on August
7, 1909, comprises 30 ff. of 218 x 15'4 c. and 17 ll., is written in a clear Turkish
naskh with the headings of the sections in red, and has no colophon or date. No
considerable mention seems to be made of any disease except Hypochondriasis
(Manariya)
