Binding

Brown half-leather and marbled paper binding with tooled decoration, including Persain title on spine. A history of Mughal India in the eighteenth century. This manuscript is not volume 2 as stated on the binding and inside the front cover. It contains parts 1 and 2 in Storey's description. On f521a the author states that he intends to continue with the history from the twenty-first year of the reign of Muhammad Shah. This is dated 26 Muharram 1195. Apparently a variant recension. Ends with a description of some of the customs of the English and a discussion of the causes of disorder in the (Mughal) kingdom.
