Front flyleaf, recto: a) Presented to the Royal Asiatic Society by James Burgess Esq MD JUne 1878 b) Signature in pencil: J Burgess c) Sgnature in ink: G Govan(?_) F149b: Impression of oval seal of Suchet Ray dated 1215, followed by an apologetic comment on his handwriting. Account of the author's journey to England in 1767 and his experiences there. Copied on the suggestion of Dr Govan(?). Headings and punctuation in red.
