Persian Manuscripts
Contents
1 copy of Muntakhab al-Lubāb by Khāfī Khān, Muḥammad Hāshim, ca. 1663-ca. 1731
In a note in Persian and one in English on the front flyleaf, recto, the MS is said to be the first volume of Khafi Khan's history and this has been accepted in the Library catalogues, but in the introduction (f1b) the author says he is beginning the second, which is correct. See Storey. Front flyleaf, recto: Presented to the Oriental Translation Come. by Sir A. Malet Bart Inside back cover, armorial bookplate of Sir Cha. Warre Malet. Part one of volume II, containing a brief account of the origin of the house of Timur and the history of the Indian Mughals to A.H. 1067 (A.D. 1656). See notes. Headings and punctuation in red.
