On European paper, with watermarks: a) Crest-like device, inscribed around edge 'PRO BONO PUBLICO' with motto below UNIVERSAL FOOLSCAP. b) Diagonally on shield 'LESCHALLAS'; below1879. Vol III. History of the Deccan Sultanates Headings and punctuation in red.
