Persian Manuscripts
Contents
1 copy of ʻĀlamgīrnāmah by Muḥammad Kāz̤im ibn Muḥammad Amīn
Folio one, recto: a) Note of ownership of Abu 'l-Fadl, entitled Fadlallah Khan b. Ghiyath al-Din Mansur al-Hasani al-Husaini al-Anjawi. Impression of his large and finely engraved round seal dated 1108, and 40th regnal year (of Aurangzib, who is mentioned in the inscription. b) Impression of small rectangular seal of Charlz War Malit, dated 1196. In his handwritten catalogue Morley gave the date as 'AH 1102, or perhaps 1152', but then crossed out '1102, or perhaps'. However, the evidence of Fadlallah Khan's seal shows that the earlier date is correct. This MS is then earlier than any of those listed by Storey. Illuminated panel above beginning of text. Headings and punctuation in red.
