Inside front cover, pasted slip: Presented by Col. M. Wilks, Kirby D: 5 June 17 June 17. 1826. (The name and place printed, the rest handwritten. Back flyleaf, verso, in pencil in Persian: Mark Wilks. This is the version of Akhlaq-i Nasiri with the later preface. As stated in the colophon, written on the instructions of Mark Wilks, whose name appears in a large panel in the form of an elaborate gilt and floral rebus Illuminated initial opening. Ruled margins. Headings and punctuation in red.
