Persian Manuscripts

Contents

Summary of Contents: 1 copy of A collection of governmental, legal and other documents collected by Muhammad Zaman b. Muhammad Hashim by Muhammad Zaman b. the late Hajji Muhammad Hashim.

Front flyleaf, recto: Presented by Sir John Malcolm My 19 1827. Inside the front cover is a page giving the correct attribution of the work and other details,in the hand of C.A.Storey. Punctuation and headings in red. No title is given in the preface. A red heading at the beginning incorrectly describes the work as the well known munsha'at of Mirza Mahdi Khan, which is also stated on the front flyleaf, recto and on the front cover. The work was correctly attributed in Morley's handwritten catalogue but the wrong title has been added there in the margin. The correct attribution was again pointed out by Storey. Evidently a very early copy, probably acquired during Malcolm's second journey to Persia.

Incipit: Hamd u sipas-i badi' al-asas
