The original entry is written in the Library copy of Codrington. F1a: a) note of purchase by Hajji Isma'il Isfahani, dated 2 Safar 1263 (20 January 1847) next to the impression of his seal dated 1251 ( the last figure uncertain. 1835-6?). b) Note written by Mahdi Rashti? on the occasion of using a friend's book for fortune telling. Bound in before f1a: Receipt signed by Hajji Isma'il Isfahani dated 12 Ramadan 1263 and 24 August 1847 acknowledging the sale of the MS to Munshi Mir Ghulam 'Ali for 35 rupees. The MS is said to come from wilayat, i.e. Persia in this case. F1b: R.M. Binning. E.I.C.C.S. Madras. Further signatures R.M. Binning on the first page of verse and the last folio, verso. F2a: Small pasted square of blue paper with applique gilt border with the impression of seal with R.M.B. in Arabic script and the date 1263 (1846-7). A good quality manuscript. Ruled margins. The text is preceded by an opening with two fine illuminated roundels. The left hand one seemingly had an inscription which has been effaced. The first opening of the preface is richly illuminated, the first opening of verse also illuminated.
