Folio preceding text, verso: impression of circular seal of Mustafa ...? The edges of the pages decorated in gold. A manuscript of good quality. Ruled blue and gold margins and dividing panels. In a panel above each poem the attribution is confirmed, in gold and blue alternately. Small panel of illumination above text.

General Gordon's bequest of books and Turkish, Perian and Arabic manuscripts is mentioned, without details in the donations register under November 6 1841. The bequest is mentioned in J.R.A.S., vii, 1843, Annual Report, p. x, and the manuscripts are briefly listed in the Proceedings, pp. xxx-xxxi.
