Some of the poems at least appear to be by Miskin and Muqbil, said to be poets of Shiraz. F1a: Fanny Birch Gift of W Blaquie October 1798 Folio preceding text, title in Persian, description of contents (by Francklin) and: Brought from Shirauz A.D. 1787. Preceding folio, verso, note on the contents (by Francklin) dated 1804, mentioning the poets Miskin and Muqbil as authors. Same folio, recto: William Francklin 1889. Inside front cover: Presented to the Oriental Translation Committee of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland by Col. Francklin A.D. 1835. (Written by Francklin?) On European paper, watermarked with heraldic device and G R. Songs of lamentation recited at Muharram by the Shi'ah in commemoration of the martyrdoms of the Imams and their families. Red used for headings and emphasis.
