Union Catalogue of Manuscripts from the Islamicate World

RAS Persian 326a. (Library, Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland)

Persian Manuscripts

Contents

1 copy of Anvār-i Suhaylī by Kāshifī, Ḥusayn Vāʻiẓ, d. 1504 or 5

There appears to be no record of the registration of the MS before it was entered in Codrington/Reade. It is not among the handwritten additions on the Library copy of Codrington. Defective at beginning and end. The first folio is an irrelevant replacement from the beginning of the Gulzar-i Ibrahim of Zuhuri, mentioning Ibrahim 'Adil Shah. The Anwar-i Suhaili here starts in the account of the discovery of the book in India. Some use of red for headings and punctuation.

Incipit: Incipit (f2a): ... padishahan-i buzurg-ra dar qawa'id-i jahandari
Language(s): Persian.
