1 copy of Jaridah-i Faridah by Muhibb 'Ali.

Uniform with Codrington/Read No 347 (1), q.v. Defective at end. Most of this second volume of the MS is taken up with a work entitled Jaridah-i Faridah. The author, Muhibb 'Ali, was evidently in the service of Shah Jahan. The book is divided into three babs. 1) Contains three essays on mystical and moral subjects, called 'Ayyarat, and a commentary on a verse of Qasim al-Anwar. 2) Contains three prefaces: to a work on mathematics (fann-i hisab) translated from an Indian language; to a mathnawi by Shaikh Muzaffar; to the Silsilat al-Dhahab (of Jami). 3) A collection of correspondence and other compositions, including pieces of verse with many chronograms. The work is complete; the final six folios of the MS contain a number of letters by Faidi, defective at the end. Bound with Codrington/Reade No 347 (1), q.v. See notes above.
