The initial entry is written on a page inserted into the Library copy of Codrington after p. 544, now loose. F1a: Title in Persian and British signature, read A.J. Macan by Henry Beveridge (see below). F16b: C.J. Haughton the gift of John Carnac Morris Esq. (See Buckland for both) Bound after the MS is a page with a table of lunar elections for the days of the signs of the zodiac. Inside the MS is a letter from H(enry) Beveridge to Codrington dated 30/5/17 giving a description of the contents, which had been asked for. Almanac for the 38th regnal year (of Shah 'Alam II, March 1795-March 1796), containing information on the Mughal dynasty, astronomical data and astrological predictions for the year. Red headings, punctuation etc. Ruled margins in red. Two astronomical diagrams; mostly laid out in tabular form.

Not mentioned in the initial entry. Probably from Graves Champney Haughton, scholar of Bengali etc, one of the founders of the R.A.S.
