Persian Manuscripts

Contents

1 copy of Khulasat al-Khamsah

The initial entry is written on a page inserted in the Library copy of Codrington, before p. 545. Flyleaf, recto: Du majlis (perhaps the illuminated panel is counted as a majlis together with the painting of figures). A small selection of verses from the Khamsah of Nizami. The compiler is unknown. Ruled margins and dividing lines. One page only has headings in white on gold cartouches, now illegible. No other headings. Panel of illumination over beginning of text. Pasted beneath the colophon is a miniature showing a man wearing a pointed and holding a bow facing another with a turban and a stick. Perhaps Bukhara sixteenth century. This is not in Robinson's catalogue.

Incipit: Incipit, after invocation: Bar ashab-i daulat wa arbab-i miknat
Language(s): Persian.
