(See f199a) Attached inside front cover, a note signed C.M. Wade, describing the MS and how it had been given to him by Ranjit Singh F1a. Impression of small oval seal 'Sohan La'l 1870 [Vikramsamvat]', authenticated as the author's in a note signed C,M. Wade Folios 625, 625bis-631 are blank. F643b (End of text), marks the end of the second daftar. F644b, upside down, two short notes signed by Wade describing the book and mentioning that he had been given it by Ranjit Singh. Occasional marginal additions and/corrections, e.g. on 237b, 238a. Presumably an early draft for the work which was later published with the same title in five daftars. Tarikh-i Maharajah Ranjit Singh. (Morley's title) A history of the Sikhs from .D. 1469 to 1831. Scribe is possibly the author himself, whose seal the MS bears. Most pages have ruled margins, some outlined in black, others not. Many pages towards the end lack margins. Headings and punctuation in red.
