Begins: سپاس بی قیاس مردایران دارای) کونین را که میزان اشعار نامدار در لسان دربار شعرا تعبیر فرمود The author, who studied Persian poetry under Shaykh Muhammad Lál and
Shaykh Muhaddith, composed the present work in 956/1549 and gave it the title
of Qawa'id-i-Al-Shiri in honour of his patron Naşiru'd-Din 'Ali-Shir. Rieu
(loc. cit.) calls it Fawa'id-i- Al-Shiri, but this seems to be a mistake.
