Summary of Contents: A collection of Persian poems by various authors. Contents: 1. (ff. 1-10) Ghazals and rubá'is from the Diwán-i Shams-i Tabriz by
Jalálu'd-Din Rúmi.
2. (ff. 10-13) The well-known tarji'-band by Sayyid Ahmad Hátif of Isfahan,
beginning:
وی نثار رهت هم این و هم آن
ای فدای تو هم دل و هم جان
of which Professor Browne has given the text, with an English prose translation,
in Persian Literature in Modern Times, pp. 284-297.
3. (ff. 14-21) A mathnawi by Mírzá Naşir, whom I have not been able to
identify, beginning:
شبی با نو جوانی گفت پیری کهن دردی کشی صافی ضمیری 4. (ff. 22-25) The Sarápá, a mathnawí describing the human body, by Mír
Sayyid 'Alí Mihri of Isfahan, who flourished in the reign of Sháh Husayn, the last
Şafawi monarch (1105-1135/1694-1722). See Rieu, B.M.P.C., p. 796; Ethé,
LO.P.C., No. 1640. Begins:
جلوه ناز تو چون آب حیات
ای بت چابك شيرين حركات
5. (ff. 26-28) Rubá'ís and couplets by Ziyá, i.e., probably, Ziyá'u'd-Din Káshí
(Ethé, I.O.P.C., No. 1743, 29).
6. (ff. 28-30) Selections from Waḥshí of Báfq (see Ethé, I.O.P.C., No. 1444)
and the above-mentioned Ziyá. These are followed by a ghazal of Jámí.
7. (ff. 30-35) Qasidas and ghazals by Sa'di. 8. (f. 36-85) The qasidas of Qa'áni, arranged in the order of their rhyme-
letters from ا to ه.
9. (ff. 85-99) A large number of short extracts from the poems of Qá'ání. 10. (ff. 99-108) Qasidas of Qá'ání rhyming in the letters ی. Ff. 109 of 21'2 x 13 c. and 14 ll. Cursive ta'liq with vignettes. No date.
