Summary of Contents: Substantial fragment from a large compendious collection of muntakhab or selected humorous and moral poetry and refined prose works by the noted poet and satirist of late Ilkhanid Iran, based at the Muzaffarid court of Shiraz and thus senior contemporary of the famous Shams al-Dīn Ḥāfiẓ, Khvājah ʿUbayd Zākānī(d. 772/1371), here named Najm al-Dīn, and not, as specified by Rypka, Niẓām al-Dīn. Volume not dated; datable to mid-sixteenth to mid-seventeenth centuries. Neat scribal nastaʿlīq. Limited annotations in margins. Stamped and Persian foliation. Lacking original binding. Binding, red half leather IOL covers, dated 8/8/[19]23. Folios bound, occasional lacunae; stains, cropped, warping and cockling, wormholes, later repairs, gauze overlay.
