Untitled collection of the qaṣāʾid or eulogies of the poet, Sayyid Jamāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Ḥusayn ibn Zayn al-Dīn ʿAlī ibn Jamāl al-Dīn Shīrāzī, with the takhalluṣ ʿUrfī (d. 999/1591), patronised at the court of the Timurid (Mughal) Emperor Akbar I (d. 1114/1605).

Dated colophon (f. 83r): completed by Ghulām [Ḥasan] ibn Muḥammad Shafīʿ, resident from the qaṣbah Gujarāt of Shāh Dawlah, 25 Rabīʿ al-S̲ānī in RY 5 of Emperor Muḥammad Shāh (1136)/22 January 1724.

Following the colophon (ff. 83v-84v) are systematic notes on various qaṣāʾid.

Neat to rough scribal nastaʿlīq and taʿlīq on variegated tinted papers (cream, pale pink, pale orange, pale bluish green, pale grey).

Dense interlinear and marginal annotations and corrections by multiple hands.

Folios unbound.

Paper dust wrapper (BEIC legal publication, Regulation XX of 1817); partial watermark (Britannia/Minerva in crowned oval frame); torn, folded, creased, stains; labels.

Condition fragile.
