1 copy of Dīvān by Nāṣir ʿAlī
Collection of poetic compositions in varied forms and genres (ghazal and rubāʿī), in alphabetical order, by the Sufi poet, Nāṣir ʿAlī of Sirhind (also known as Sihrind or Sarhind), takhalluṣ ʿAlī (d. 1108/1697).
This volume originally comprised two items (101 folios) that have subsequently been split into two volumes with the colophon carried over into the second.
Not dated at end. See colophon in volume 2 (f. 101r): transcribed by (obliterated) […Aḥmad?] in qaṣbah Chāndpūr (Bijnor, UP), [under the government of] Najīb al-Dawlah, in RY 12 of ʿĀlī Gawhar, that is, Emperor Shāh ʿĀlam (1770-1).
Scribal nastaʿlīq and shikastah āmīz on alternating cream and pinkish orange tinted papers.
Frequent annotations in margins and interlinear spaces by multiple later hands, including flyleaves and vacant spaces.
Stamped and pencil foliation out of sequence.
Lacking original binding.
Folios unbound; severely cropped, wormholes, creasing, water stains.
Condition poor.
