2.Title: al-Muʿallaqāt bi-sharḥ farsīIncipit: قفا نبكي من ذكرى حبيب و منرل *** بسقط اللوى بين الدخول فحوملExplicit: وهو الرب والشهيد على *** يوم الحواريين والبلاء بلاءColophon: قصاید سبعه در سنه ۱۱۹۹ یکهزار و یکصد ونود ونه هجری تمام شد مطابق بکهزار و هفصد وهشتاد وپنج عیسویThe poems are written out in large nastaʿlīq script on the page with the Persian gloss written transversely around the poems in geometric patterns.

The manuscript is in very good condition.

Layout is variable depending on the part.
Hand(s)
The first half is copied out by al-Ḥājj ʿAbd Allāh al-Makkī in his black and red thuluth script. The second part is in nastaʿlīq.
Decoration
Additions:On f1r, Jones has written "The Poems of al-Mutalammis" and on f20v "The Seven Arabian Poems with a Persian Gloss"
Binding
Standard India Office half leather binding with wine coloured marbled endpapers.

RSPA 1-118 were presented to the Royal Society in January 1792 by Sir William and Lady Jones.
The Royal Society's collection of 280 Persian and Arabic, and 86 Sanskrit manuscripts were transferred to the India Office Library in 1876.
